Knock, Knock....Who's there?

This was my conversation with Grant the other day...

Grant: "Hey, Mom--Why did the pig cross the road?"
Me: "Ummm...to get to the other side?"
Grant: "No, to get to the movies."
Me: "Oh. I think you're supposed to say, 'Why did the COW cross the road?'"
Grant: "Nooooo...."
Me: "You know, '...to get to the mooooovies.'"
(Pause....)
Grant: "Hey, Mom--Why did the cow jump over the moon?"
Me (thinking I was clever): "To see the other side of the moooooon?"
Grant: "No, to get to outer space!"

Superhero: Karina-bucket

As mentioned in the subtitle of this blog, there are five young superheroes who are in my charge. Life is certainly never mundane when they are around. I'm sure you're curious as to who they are and what superpowers they possess. So, the first one I'll spotlight is "Karina-bucket."

Alias: Booga, Bucket, Ooga-Booga, Baby Beluga

Now, Karina-bucket is still quite young and we are discovering her superpowers as they develop. However, we have noticed she carries a wide range of emotions that can change in a nanosecond. The most powerful seems to be her Look of Death, or Evil Eye, which even the strongest of characters would find dreadfully painful to withstand. I can see how this ability could bring even the most powerful of humans to their knees. Heaven help those who fall under the trance of her emotional influence!

Bucket also wields a light-saber with skill, especially for her young age, and readily sings the Imperial March when appropriate. I'm sure these skills have been honed by her older brothers who are currently in Jedi training.
We'll keep you posted regarding other superpowers as they emerge. I'm sure others will surface as she grows and develops.

Taking the Plunge

So, this is it. I've decided to bite the bullet, jump on the bandwagon, follow the crowd, take the plunge, whatever you want to call it, and start a family blog. The peer pressure from several of my other blogging friends has finally taken its toll. Well, that and the almost constant nagging in my brain to do a better job at keeping a family history for my children. I don't scrapbook, I'm terrible at keeping a consistent journal, and I have a slew of pictures with stories to go with them that are only in my head.

And so I embark upon this new frontier enthusiastically, hoping it will rid me of the motherly guilt I carry and provide an outlet to share the adventures of our family with all of you! Bookmark this page and visit often; there is more to come soon....
