Superhero: Grunty Grant

Alias: Granty, Grunt, Grunt Master Flash

Grunty Grant is a superhero of mega-proportions, and this is no exaggeration. If ever there was a child, I mean a superhero, who was free-spirited and fun-loving it would be Grunty Grant. This boy knows how to play and play HARD! He doesn't live life, he experiences it!

This superhero ability to experience life gives Grunty great advantage over his enemies. He is uber-coordinated, which allows him to escape, defeat, or simply awe his enemy in a variety of ways. Like when he throws down tricks on his bike or skateboard, or breakdances, or jumps around like a ninja, or shows off his guitar smashing rockstar moves. He's also really good at disguising himself with a variety of mediums which he usually smears on his face, hands, and clothing. For example, any food he is eating becomes part of his persona. Or, if there be one spot of mud in our yard he will find some way to put it to good use. It's really quite remarkable.

He has also been trained to use every weapon known to man, and sometimes he uses them all at once!
Grunty Grant might also be called a superhero of a thousand faces. He uses many facial contortions to confuse, terrify, and sometimes humor, his enemy. Photo opps with Grunty are always rewarding, if you can get him to hold still long enough!

The origin of Grunty Grant's superhero name comes from his infancy and toddlerhood. Oftentimes when he was sleeping as a baby (and he slept a lot!), he would grunt loudly---even raising his feet into the air as he groaned. So, we started calling him Grunty Grant. Then, as he was a bit older he decided talking was overrated and started grunting and pointing for what he wanted instead. Thus maintaining his grunting abilities.

Grunty has a zest for life, but he also has a super-sweet side that especially illustrates itself when his energy has worn down and he's ready for rest. All through the day it's difficult to get a hug from the ever-active superhero, but once the sun sets he'll come to Mom, give a hug, and say, "I love you, Mom. You're my friend." That's when I know he's ready for bed! And despite all the messes he's experienced throughout the day, his super-soft cheeks, poochy buddha belly, and sparkling blue eyes are enough to make any mom weak in the knees and say, "You're my friend too!"
