There's a thief in the house.
Socks have been missing, misplaced, and scattered.
Every week I fold the laundry on the kitchen table and leave a pile of folded socks to be put away later.
By morning, it's like a sock bomb went off and all the socks are scattered all over the floor--some still folded, others not.
Here's the culprit.
Twig's the sock thief.
He's completely obsessed.
When he sees a pair of folded socks, he picks them up in his mouth and starts flinging them around like a rag doll. He flips them up in the air, catches them, bites them, bats them around, pummels them with his back feet, and carries them down the hallway to play with them some more. I've seen him steal pairs of socks on Mariah's bed--he'll grab them, jump off her bed, and go play. When he sees the kids' laundry basket that I use to collect their clean socks to put away on laundry day, he raids it at his pleasure--picking out his favorites to play with.
He's a sock connoisseur, and he's actually developed a preference in socks. His favorites are the boys' fleece socks. If those aren't around, he goes for Karina's soft socks (see above). He'll settle for others, but he's not nearly as interested in them.
If we're missing a pair of socks, we know who's behind it.
Beware the sock thief!
